Rome: Total War Realism is a partial remake of Rome: Total War which is designed to provide a more historically accurate representation of several features in the game. With the Realism mod installed, the game features 17 playable factions, units have new skins that better depict the time period and even new ones have been added. Download r. To begin, be sure to update your app, and have a clean install, because that's what other people telling me how to install stuff always tell me to do. Go to the following link, and click 'Not_Mac_App_Store_Compatible/', then click 'EuropaBarbarorum.dmg' and 'RomeTotalRealism.dmg' to download them.

You can try this with FourthAge.dmg, but I haven't, so I can't guarantee anything. 'RomeModSetup.dmg' is written for older versions of the app and will not work with the Mac App Store app. Right click your Rome: Total War app and click 'Show Package Contents'.

Rome

Go into 'Contents', then 'Resources', then 'Data'. You should see the folders 'BI', 'data', and possibly 'Alexander' if you have that expansion pack. 'Alexander' is the data folder for the Alexander the Great expansion pack, 'BI' is the data folder for Rome: Total War: Barbarian Invasion, and 'data' is the data for the original game. Go into the.dmgs you downloaded and copy the data folders in those.dmgs into the 'Data' (NOT 'data') folder in the Rome: Total War app. For example, the data folder for Europa Barbarorum is 'EB'. The data folders for the mods should now reside next to the original 'BI' and 'data' folders within the 'Data' folder.

Rome Total Realism For Mac

Open the Rome: Total War app, but do not click 'Play' on the dialog window that always appears before the actual game starts. If the window does not show up, quit and reopen, this time holding the command key will opening the app. In the pre game dialog window, click 'Open Preferences Folder' under the 'About' tab. Do not drag (dragging creates a shortcut, which we don't want), but copy the main app into the top level of the preferences folder. Open the app from inside this folder, and be sure to enter '-mod:EB' or '-mod:RTRPE' (without quotes) in the 'Advanced options' box under the 'Advanced' tab of the pre game dialog window in order to actually use the mods. Side Note: In, 'RomeModSetup_AppStore.dmg' might contain a script that will place the app in the preferences folder automatically, but since this was not available about a month ago when I tried all this, I have not tried it.

If anyone tries RomeModSetup_AppStore.dmg or FourthAge.dmg, please let us know is it works. Hope this helps. Edit: Post questions here instead of messaging me so others can help you and also so others can see the solution too! I will still try to help as much as I can. Edit 2: Upon updating the RTW app from App Store updates, any installed mods get deleted (at least EB was deleted for me after two different updates, each time I had to reinstall it)!

This began after the Alexander expansion pack was released (which I bought/downloaded). Here is the location of my RTW preferences folder: Users>User>Library>Containers>com.feralinteractive.rome>Data>Library>Application Support>Feral Interactive>Rome Total War 'Rome Total War' is the preferences folder that is opened when you click 'Open Preferences Folder' on the pre-game launch window; it's not actually called 'Preferences'. Any other folder pertaining to Rome Total War might just be an old folder used for the game before it was updated. For me the RTW game preferences (which contained my saves) used to be somewhere in: Users>User>Library>Application Support When I updated, I noticed none of my saves were present, so I went to my old folder in Users>User>Library>Application Support and moved the saves to what I found to be the new folder by clicking the 'Show Preferences Folder' on the pre-game launch window. Then I moved the old folder to somewhere different, such as the Downloads or Documents folder, just to see if it affected the game. I launched the game and it ran fine, so I knew that they were in fact the old folders and were not used anymore, so I just deleted them.
